Gold Shoes InitiativeChildhood Cancer Awareness is represented by the color gold, which symbolizes how precious children are, as well as the resiliency of our childhood cancer heroes. To honor Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, a group of pediatric cancer patients customized and autographed a pair of one-of-a-kind gold shoes for Carlos Correa and surprised him with the gift right before the Astros game on September 20, 2019.
The love and unrelenting bravery of these young heroes energized Correa, who proudly wore the shoes while opening that game with back-to-back home runs. For him, it was a concrete reminder that love is power—and through love, we can accomplish anything. |

Financial Support for Families
To further support families affected by childhood cancer, the Correa Family Foundation is committed to providing grants to selected families to help offset non-medical and indirect costs. The financial burden of a cancer diagnosis can be tremendous, and these grants are intended to help families who may be struggling with food supply, transportation, utilities and housing.
